Futon means « mattress » in japanese. This former way of accommodation is nowadays available in diverse thicknesses and dimensions according to your wish to put the futon on a settee, to use it as your principal accommodation or to adapt your room to a traditional japanese way of decoration with a fine futon place over tatamis. You can roll it up in the daytime to gain some space.
